THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We’ve done it. We raised $30,000 on Kickstarter, and with those funds and of course the support from my amazing independent label Signature Sounds, I am making the best record I’ve ever made. It’s been a CRAZY 2 months both in the studio and on the road, and as December comes to an end we’ll have every track of every song recorded and ready to be mixed and mastered!
The core team is producer Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses) and engineer Jason Kingsland (Belle and Sebastian, Delta Spirit, Band of Horses). These guys have been absolutely amazing to work with, and the sound that is forming is something I’ve wanted for years and fits these songs like a glove. And this team has brought in some BIG HITTERS to make thing record a beauty: Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket), Stanton Edward and Jimmy Wallace (both from The Wallflowers), Tyler Ramsey (Band of Horses), Tommy Perkinson (Peter Bradley Adams), DARLINGSIDE and Adron. The result of mixing these incredible players has been PURE MAGIC.
I’ll keep everyone posted as we get closer to the record release, which is set for Spring 2015!
OCTOBER & NOVEMBER 2014
I’ve been ITCHING to tell you what’s been going on!! So here’s the big news:
1- I’m making a new record.
2- Ahhhhhhh!!! I’M MAKING A NEW RECORD!!
3- I need your help.
4- So I just launched my first Kickstarter campaign!
I’m SO excited about the songs that will be on this record, I believe they are the best I’ve ever written. If you want to know why, it’s all on my Kickstarter page.
I am SO excited that Bill Reynolds from Band of Horses is producing the record. You can find out more about him and the other incredibly talented people making this record if you go to my Kickstarter page.
To make this record the absolute BEST it can be, I need to raise $22,500. And I have 30 days to do it. That’s a lot of money and a short time. Furthermore, this is an all or nothing campaign, so if I don’t reach my goal, none of the money raised goes towards the record, and your donation is refunded at the end of the 30 days. So I’m reaching out to you, my dear fans. You’ve been SO supportive to me from the start, so I truly believe we can do this. To help me reach my goal check out my Kickstarter page.
I am offering some unique prizes for your generous support: online lessons, signed microphones, limited edition T-shirts, the vintage dress I wore on my 2013 album cover & more! All prizes are listed, you guessed it, on my Kickstarter page.
I hope you’ll forgive me for the absurd amount of links to my Kickstarter page. I’m incredibly passionate about this album already, and I want to take every chance I have to support it!
SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2014
What a Summer
I’ve had the summer of my life this year and I would like to extend an enormous thanks to everyone that came out to a show in any of the 53 cities I stopped in since May.
A large part of the touring was with my dear friends and inspiring collaborators, Darlingside, with whom I took a final bow this past weekend in New Hampshire. I had the honor of creating a 5-song record with these guys back in January (called Woodstock) and we performed together at so many incredible venues and festivals (High Sierra Festival in Northern CA, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, CA, Four Corners Folk Festival in Pagosa Springs, CO, Sisters Folk Festival in Sisters, OR, Green River Festival in Greenfield, MA)
I also toured with Rodrigo y Gabriela in the midwest and recently recorded an eTown show with the wonderful Shakey Graves, which will air this fall on 300+ radio stations throughout the country (Details soon!) Other highlights included opening for my amazing label-mates Lake Street Dive at the State Theatre in Ithaca NY, and watching Harris clean the van windows in the dustier parts of Colorado.
While in the mountains we piled into a gondola and sang with less breath than usual at nearly 8,000 feet. Here’s Flutter with those Darlingside harmonies:
I can’t quite tell you what is in the works just yet… but I can say that a big announcement is coming in the next couple of weeks! Can’t wait to share…stay tuned!!!
August & September 2014

THRILLED to be opening for all of these amazing musicians this month!
Starting this Sunday, I’m hitting the Mid-Western highways with the INCREDIBLE guitar duo, Rodrigo y Gabriela. These guys have a huge, devoted following of music lovers, it is an honor to be hitting the stages with them! (Sun 8/10 – Louisville KY, Wed 8/13 – Grand Rapids MI, Thu 8/14 – Milwaukee WI) See SHOWS PAGE for details.
The Woodstock EP, a collaborative 5 song effort from Heather Maloney and Darlingside, is now available for digital download. The bands are touring the U.S. throughout 2014. Visit the Tour Dates page for more info.

It’s June, and June 1st marks the first official date of the Woodstock EP Release Tour with Darlingside! We’ll be going all over the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Colorado, Oregon, and to the great state of California! I’ve never stepped foot on the west coast, and I am royally pumped.
There are at least 30 shows on this tour, click below to see if we’ll be coming through your town!
I hope your well-earned Spring has been a good one so far. It’s the calm before the storm here in my sweet home in the Valley of Western Massachusetts… Starting this weekend I’ve close to FIFTY shows on the books until mid-September, many of which are a part of the highly anticipated (by me) EP Release Tour with Darlingside.
So I’ve been taking advantage of these last couple weeks at home to plant the very first seedlings of my next full length record: rounding up all of the new material, writing, co-writing, arranging and re-aranging unfinished songs, and recording demos in the comfort of home.
I’m already excited for this next record, but first, we’ve got a “Woodstock” to tour with, and I am SO. EFFING. EXCITED.
Guys, Spring is finally here. It was a long winter here in New England (and many other places), and I couldn’t think of a better time than Spring to hop in the van, roll down the windows, and hit the road! There are some exciting shows coming up…
Last month Darlingside and I released our collaborative EP, Woodstock. Our EP Release Tour will take us all over the US this Summer/Fall, but first we are hitting our home-state of Massachusetts with 5 shows (Northampton & Cambridge). As of today all 5 shows are SOLD OUT!! HOWEVER, wherever you live, you can still see an EP Release show on April 12th, as it will be streaming live on Concert Window! You can purchase online tickets on a pay-what-you-want basis starting now. And then:
At 7pm EST on Saturday 4/12, CLICK HERE to see the EP Release streaming live!
And if you want to catch an EP Release show in person, stay tuned for more show announcements!
Graham Nash (of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, who covered Woodstock back in the 70s) has shown huge support for us, calling our version of the song “Delicious, really excellent,” and said, “I’m certain that Joni would enjoy this wonderfully heartfelt version of her classic song.”
I had so much fun recording these songs with the talented guys of Darlingside, and we are so excited to share this project with you! The first EP Release shows are in Northampton on 4/11 at Parlor Room (2 shows) and Boston, MA on 4/12 at Club Passim (2 shows). Both nights will likely sell out, so get your tickets soon!
JUST ANNOUNCED: “Woodstock”, the joint EP that Darlingside and I made, is set to officially release March 11th on Signature Sounds! The EP includes the song Woodstock by Joni Mitchell, which we covered in a video we made a couple of months ago that was featured in the New York Times. We got so much love for it we decided to record it, and the EP just grew out of that.
We are debuting “Woodstock” later this month at the International Folk Alliance in Kansas City MO, and our first EP Release shows start back home on April 11th and 12th! We can’t wait to share it with you!
While I was on the road with Darlingside, we stopped by the famed Daytrotter studio in Rock Island Illinois and did a couple of sessions. I’ve wanted to do Daytrotter for years (and get a cool drawing of myself). Click below to hear our live session!
It’s November, and I’m back out on the road! This time, it’s with one of my favorite bands, Darlingside. These guys are amazing and definitely bound for some serious success. I am pumped to have them join me on much of my set, and we’ll be taking the show all over the Mid-West and into the South, hitting NY, MI, IL, MO, TN, NC, VA and the DC area. We kicked off the tour with our first collaborative show in New England and had a complete blast, so we hope you can make it out to one of these shows! See you out there!
MAY 22nd, 2013
Some great summer shows are coming up, but first…
Thank you to EVERYONE (friends, fans, my wonderful band, my amazing Signature and Mad Mission team) for an incredible CD Release Tour, which ended in a sold-out show at Club Passim, and review in the Boston Globe.
What a month!

MAY 9th, 2013
The tour has been wild and wonderful so far, and tonight will most definitely be a highlight, as we head towards Grand Rapids Michigan, one of my favorite cities in these United States.
At 5:30 we will appear live on 88.1 WYCE to play and talk new record.
You can listen live HERE.
Then we head over the the One Trick Pony for an 8pm CD Release show. Grand Rapids is so full of talent, appreciation for the arts, and just downright kind people. Basically it’s a guaranteed good time!
